Tallgrass Institute Participates among 300+ Organizations in #GiveNative 2025
Tallgrass Institute is honored to be among the 300+ organizations participating the #GiveNative campaign by Native Ways Federation. This community movement helps raise awareness to giving—in all of its forms—to Native nonprofits and recognizes that Native-led organizations have the solutions to the issues that Native communities are facing.
Did you know…
Native Americans and Alaska Natives are 2.9% of the U.S. population but Native-serving causes receive 0.4% of philanthropic dollars.
67% of foundation leaders say they provide little or no funding to organizations serving Native communities.
Out of the $105 Billion given to nonprofits from private foundations in 2022, only $263 Million was given to Native-led organizations — that’s just .25 percent.
“Solidarity means investing in Native leadership, trusting Native solutions, and amplifying Native voices. That’s what #GiveNative is all about — building a future led by and for Native nations, communities, and people,” says Carly Bad Heart Bull, JD (Flandreau Santee), Executive Director of Native Ways Federation.

Tallgrass Institute is a Center for Indigenous Economic Stewardship. We bridge Indigenous leadership and knowledge with investor strategies to advance Indigenous Peoples' self-determination and wellbeing. By activating investor and economic ecosystems, we work to redefine the private sector’s role as one that respects Indigenous Peoples’ human rights, lands, and economic priorities.
Durable change in extractive and exclusionary systems can happen through our persistent push to ensure Indigenous Peoples’ participation, insights, values, and generational visions are integrated at every level. Your generous support of Tallgrass Institute helps us to change-make through:
Corporate Engagement – We work directly with Indigenous leadership and organizations to design and deploy targeted corporate campaigns and facilitate high-level dialogue between Indigenous Peoples and corporations.
Training – We provide training and workshops with Indigenous Peoples, corporations, financial institutions, and investors globally, with a focus on shareholder advocacy and foundational understanding of Indigenous Peoples’ rights.
Research – Leading with Indigenous Peoples' enterprise visions, we produce publications and resources for investors, financial institutions, and corporate decision-makers to better integrate Indigenous Peoples’ rights into routine business operations.
Networks – We cultivate collaborative networks to activate investor and economic ecosystems aligned with Indigenous Peoples’ rights and wellbeing across sectors and fields.
